RIDER FITNESS
& ALIGNMENT CLINIC
With NCAS Level 2 Coach Liesl Wilding & Personal Trainer (BSc in Exercise and Health) Kirsty Holmes
SUNDAY JUNE 6th 2021
Starting at 7:00am
An in-depth clinic to develop both your alignment and fitness to make breakthroughs in your riding performance!
Riding is a team sport. Our horses are athletes, and we as riders are too. To be able to get the most out of your training, performance and your horse’s wellbeing, it is important to prioritise yourself as well as your horse!
The Rider Fitness and Alignment clinic is for riders who are looking to make breakthroughs with their riding by focusing on how to use their bodies effectively both in and out of the saddle.
This clinic combines the expertise of NCAS Level 2 Coach Liesl Wilding, and Personal Trainer (with Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health) Kirsty Holmes, to bring a two-sided approach for riders to improve their ability to influence their horses in the saddle.
This clinic will bring you clarity and an action plan to work on your position, aids and “feel” in the saddle, and also your strength, fitness and imbalances off the horse as well.
You will begin with an individual 45-minute ridden session with Liesl to break down the fundamentals of your position, the effectiveness of your aids and to also analyse which imbalances are currently challenging you.
Then, after a break, you will have a 45-minute training session with Kirsty Holmes for fitness and strength analysis, based on your specific positional challenges that you worked on with Liesl. Kirsty will take you through the correct form, technique and mind-muscle connection. You will receive a program tailored to your needs so you can work on your imbalances off the horse, so it will be much easier for you to be correct in your position in the saddle.
After the clinic, you will receive a rider fitness exercise program with exercise demonstration videos tailored to you to improve your strength and fitness and correct your imbalances.
The clinic will be focused on flatwork and dressage, but is suitable for any discipline of rider. Lunch will be provided.
